Striking the right balance in causing safety involves being strict enough that the safe environment happens and calm enough that students respect your approach. On US military firing lines it is permissible to punch / tackle or do as may be necessary to stop unsafe activity. In civilian courses learning NRA systems the instructional disposition is geared towards student involvement and helping them enjoy the experience. All the same, coaches must be alert to stop any unsafe conduct.
